We are so blessed that she is at Philip Hayden Foundation. PHF encourages us to contact them, they want to make this transition as easy as possible. They want us to have as much information as possible about our child's time spent there.
One of the things we can do is to send a care package to our child. I shipped ours today. It was 34 pounds! What you ask did I put in there to add up to 34 lbs.?
Well...
For Grace--a few outfits of Shaoey's that I wanted both girls to have worn, a couple of new outfits, a blanket, 3 board books, a purse, 2 small toys (one a phone), sunglasses, a doll, a puzzle, and most importantly--the photobook of us! I put together a book with pictures of our family and our house, and her room. Everything was labeled in English and in Chinese. We hope in this way to start preparing her to meet us. We have all of this waiting time to meet her, she hasn't been there "waiting" for us exactly...
For her nannies--candy, lip balm, and pecan gralle'. I really wanted to send a small bath gift, but was told that I couldn't ship it... I know some have... who knows. I guess I'll just bring them with us.
For the other nannies in the house--the same things, just not in individual gift bags
For the other kids with her--coloring books, crayons, stickers, hot wheels cars, skittles and dum-dums.
For Leah and the office--some pecan gralle' and a big bag of ghirardelli chocolate!
That's what you put in a 34 lb. package!
I prayed over the box, that it would get there safely, and most importantly, that everyone that receives something from the box will also receive a special blessing and touch from God for all their work, dedication, and love for these children. |
